Dr. R. Clinton Ohlers

Dr. R. Clinton Ohlers

Dr. Ohlers brings a rare combination of academic depth and real-world insight to one of the most overlooked issues in modern healthcare: transparency and patient choice in the blood supply.

Trained at the University of Pennsylvania in the history of science and intellectual history, and formerly an Assistant Research Professor at the University of Hong Kong, Dr. Ohlers approaches today’s medical policy debates with a rigorous, historically grounded perspective.

Through his work with SafeBlood, he focuses on a critical gap in informed consent: patients currently have little to no ability to choose or even understand the source of blood used in transfusions, particularly in emergency settings.

His research and advocacy explore:

• The ethics of blood transfusion and donor choice

• Emerging questions around mRNA exposure through blood products

• Maternal and neonatal safety concerns

• Institutional decision-making and public health policy failures

• The broader implications for medical freedom and patient autonomy
