Geeta Chougule

Geeta is a seasoned STEM Coordinator with over 20 years of experience championing excellence in higher education and program management at universities in the Ivy leagues and others. She has worked in various areas of academic science departments and higher education administration. Geeta graduated from the University of Colorado as an electrical engineer and transitioned from software programming to academic administration.

Geeta sums up her experience by saying, "I entered academia with a great deal of blind respect for the highly credentialed class of people. I convinced myself that when they said and did things that seemed nonsensical, or not common sense, it was because they had years of study and research and so must absolutely know what was correct.” Then Covid came. She began questioning messaging coming from authority figures with titles and credentials. She learned to distrust and question their loyalty.

After that she had no choice but to face the fact that knowledge and common sense mean nothing when one is up against agendas supported by money, authority and power. Geeta says, “I had awoken from the comfortable, secure, solid world of boundaries of right and wrong to the messy world of grey lines of ethics and trust. What a disappointment! “

Outside of her professional life, she is a wife, and proud mother of two grown children and enjoys balancing her passion for life.
